And this is why we are a group made up of differences: men and women, a variety of races, traditions and cultures from all continents and social strata. In order to offer a permanently ‘updated’ service of animation, open to change, we do not give importance to seniority or hierarchical role. In an essential equality of relationships, any of us can have the office of leadership or other responsibilities, as long as we have the necessary competence and time at our disposal. We are all provisory; there is a constant changeover. The richness of the past is rediscovered starting from the questions of the present. It is not possible to invite “everyone” to belong to a group if the demands are too high and therefore too selective. For this reason there are members full time and members part time. This obliges us to be always flexible and on the lookout for forms of organisation that would allow some to offer a part of their time and others to offer all their time. At present the international Group – present in 41 countries – is made up of 630 members: 595 at part time and 35 at full time. There are 378 laity, 157 priests, 88 religious and 7 bishops.
