WHAT WE PROPOSE

A PROJECT:

 - a proposal, in writing, something intentional, that we want to act on;

- a proposal that becomes “a plan”, when those with the authority to decide take it on and put the “project” into action. 

PASTORAL:

-a project that tries to express the spirit, attitudes and operative guidelines of Jesus, the Good Shepherd (Pastor) (Jn. 10);

- a project that seeks to express:

- the service proper to the Church- to persons and to the community-people

- of a time and of a place (culture)

- so that, as persons and as community-people, they might respond progressively to their vocation to communion with God, to holiness

- reaching salvation-liberation in Christ

- for the coming and extension of the Reign of God. 

OF RENEWAL:

- of inner renewal-conversion, something that the project serves but which cannot be planned, since inner conversion comes from a gift of God and faithful human response;

- of external renewal of the visible image of the Church and, in this case, of the parish, in its service to the Word, in its liturgical and charitable action and in its organisation and ministries;

- of renewal that is nothing other than a process of accepting, deepening and doing what the Spirit is saying to the Church: . through the teaching of the Church

. and as response to the needs of salvation of persons of a specific time and place. 

OF THE PARISH:

- the object of this renewal is the parish

- but not just one parish- the project is about the renewal of parishes in the sense that

. it has to do with what is common to all parishes as church communities

. it is based on church teaching

. it is expressed in the diversity of cultures and times

- it is therefore a pastoral project of renewal of parishes that combines two demands:

. to plan what is common to all parishes

. to offer the methodological elements so that each parish can express what is peculiar to it in what is common

- in this way the project-proposal will become the plan of each particular parish, in communion with the local and universal Church.
